ميتة جاهلية هي بكسر الميم أي على صفة موتهم من حيث هم فوضى لا إمام لهم.

قال ابن حجر رحمه الله
والمراد بالميتة الجاهلية حالة الموت كموت أهل الجاهلية على ضلال وليس لهم إمام مطاع لأنهم كانوا لا يعرفون ذلك ، وليس المراد أنه يموت كافراً بل يموت عاصياً
